Blue Hawks Win Final - Finish at the top of the table

The Southbury Blue Hawks avenge an earlier loss to beat a very good Watertown team. Southbury finishes the season with a 7 - 1 record in the division putting them at the top of the table for the fall league play (10 - 1 - 1 overall).
This one had the look and feel of the previous encounter, except this time the referees showed up on time (early in fact). The weather was a bit on the cool side and grey skies all around. Blue Hawks eak out victory in final minute against New Milford

The Southbury Blue Hawks score in the waning moments of this nervous affair against an improving New Milford team. Eric Beatty blasted home a shot that banged off the goal post and in to secure the victory after back and forth action all day.
The Blue Hawks playing on the larger Seman's field for the first time this year, came out strong as usual. After beating the New Milford team in the first game of the season on the smaller Rochambeau field the Blue Hawks continued to put pressure in the New Milford end. Blue Hawks out shoot, but cannot claim victory over a tough Watertown opponent..

The Blue Hawks out shot Watertown by about 30 shots but cannot score against a stingy defense anchored by great play in goal.
This game got started about 45 minutes late as the regular referee did not show up. A replacement refereee was called in and did an excellent job.
The Watertown team let it be known early they were not going to attack with more than 3 - 4 players as 3 of their defenders stayed back on the 18 yard line the whole game.
